


French Immersion Day (Teens 11-15) — French Film & Adventure Lab (Fall'25)
Immersion Day Overview:
Teens dive into French language and culture by exploring cinema, storytelling, and creative problem-solving. They will:
Film Detectives: Watch short French film clips or animations, then solve puzzles or answer questions about the plot and characters in French.
Improv & Scene Creation: Work in small groups to create their own short scenes or mini-films in French.
Creative Journals: Storyboard or illustrate their adventures, adding French dialogue or captions.
Culture Challenge: Participate in games or quizzes about French cinema, music, or iconic cultural moments.
Movement & Expression: Act out scenes with gestures, expression, and dramatic flair to reinforce vocabulary and confidence.
Goal: Strengthen conversational French, listening comprehension, and creative expression while immersing teens in French cinematic and cultural experiences.
Logistics:
-Class meets in person; Saturday, October 25 @ 9:30am-12:00pm & 1:30-4:00pm (two 2.5-hour sessions: morning and afternoon)
*** Important Note: No lunch or child supervision is provided between sessions. Parents must pick up their children promptly for the lunch pause between sessions.
-Course duration: two 2.5-hour class sessions: morning and afternoon
-Prerequisite: some FREN 101 or equivalent
-Group size: 3-8 students
-Location: 1790 30th st., suite 245, Boulder, CO
