French Immersion Day (A2) – Secrets of the French Countryside (Adults 18+) (Fall'25)

Escape to the French countryside for a day of language, culture, and discovery! This immersive workshop is designed for A2-level learners who want to strengthen their speaking and listening skills while exploring the charm of rural France.

Throughout the day, participants will:

  • Wander through hidden villages, describing houses, landscapes, and daily life in French.

  • Practice at the village market, asking for prices, quantities, and specialties during role play activities.

  • Step into the kitchen with a food challenge, learning vocabulary for recipes, flavors, and cooking.

  • Plan the ultimate countryside getaway, working in small groups to design itineraries and present them in French.

  • Bring stories to life through skits and dialogues inspired by rural traditions and local legends.

By the end of the day, learners will have gained confidence in practical communication, expanded their vocabulary for travel and culture, and enjoyed an authentic taste of the French countryside—without leaving the classroom!

Important Note: We do not provide childcare or lunch between sessions. Participants are expected to return promptly for the afternoon session.

Logistics:

-Class meets in person; Saturday, November 15 @ 9:30am-12:00pm & 1:30-4:00pm (two 2.5-hour sessions: morning and afternoon)

-Course duration: two 2.5-hour class sessions: morning and afternoon

-Class taught in French

-Group size: 3-8 students

-Prerequisite: FREN 101 or equivalent
