*Week 4: Little Playmakers: Create, Act & Shine on Stage (6-11 years old)

M-F: 06/23/25-06/27/25, 9:00am-12:00pm

This high-energy week invites campers to become storytellers, costume designers, and performers—all en français! Through theater games, short skits, and character play, children will explore French vocabulary while learning how to express themselves on stage. Learners will co-create a simple final performance to share with family and friends, incorporating their own dialogue, songs, and handmade props. Along the way, they'll build confidence, cooperation skills, and joy in speaking French through play.

Language goals: Use greetings, expressions, and basic stage directions in French; Describe characters with simple adjectives; Perform short scripted or improvised scenes using memorized and original lines; Respond to cues and participate in group storytelling; Work collaboratively using French to express ideas and emotions

Sample activities include: Theater warm-ups and movement games (Simon says in French, mirroring, freeze frame) ~ Mask-making and costume crafts for original characters ~ Skit writing and storytelling using visuals and puppets ~ Role play classic scenes (e.g. royal court, enchanted forest, silly market) ~ Create tickets, programs, and signs in French for the final show ~ Rehearsal games to learn cues and build stage confidence ~ Songs and rhythm games with character voices.
