*Week 2: Wonders of Nature (ages 5-13)
M-F: July 13, 2026-July 17, 2026: 9:00am-12:00pm
This week, young explorers will dive into the fascinating world of French flora and fauna. Through hands-on art projects, imaginative storytelling, and outdoor-inspired games, campers will learn to talk about animals, plants, weather, and landscapes—all in French. Each day brings a new theme inspired by forests, gardens, oceans, mountains, and the sky above! Children will build vocabulary, practice observation, and express their love of nature through painting, building, movement, and music. It’s a fun and immersive way to connect language learning with our living world.
Language goals: Name common animals, plants, and elements of nature in French; Describe colors, shapes, textures, and sounds found in nature; Use basic weather and seasonal vocabulary; Follow simple instructions related to science and nature-themed tasks; Express preferences and observations using complete phrases;
Sample activities include: Create nature journals with labeled drawings in French ~ Leaf printing, rock painting, and insect sculpture ~ Build mini “jardins français” using natural materials ~ Sensory scavenger hunts with French descriptors ~ Weather games and songs with props (rain, sun, wind) ~ Story time with nature-themed French books and puppet scenes ~ Movement activities inspired by animals and seasons;
