*Week 5: Storybook Adventures (6-11 years old)

M-F: 07/07/25-07/11/25, 9:00am-12:00pm

Step into the world of French storybooks! This week, campers will immerse themselves in beloved French tales while becoming authors, illustrators, and actors. Each day, they’ll explore a different type of story—fairy tales, fables, adventures, and more—through creative art, dramatic play, and language activities. Children will use their imagination to create original stories, develop characters, and bring scenes to life. By the end of the week, they will have their very own storybooks and an exciting group performance to showcase their hard work. Join us for a week filled with magic, creativity, and language learning!

Language goals: Use simple French phrases to describe characters, settings, and actions in stories; Use vocabulary related to fairy tales, animals, and fantasy worlds; Express ideas for creating a story; Act out basic scenes, following simple dialogue or directions in French; Create their own short story, with illustrations and French sentences

Sample activities include: Create storybook covers and write short sentences for their own tales ~ Puppet-making and storytelling through role play ~ Character creation and costume design ~ Group collaboration on a final group play or story presentation ~ French fable reading and retelling in groups ~ Animal-themed arts and crafts (e.g. making animal masks or creature puppets) ~ Practice telling stories using toys, props, and creative movement
