French Summer Camp, Week 6: Under the Stars: Space & Sky Explorers (ages 6-11); M-F: 07/14/25-07/18/25, 9:00am-12:00pm CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

*Week 6: Under the Stars: Space & Sky Explorers (6-11 years old)

M-F: 07/14/25-07/18/25, 9:00am-12:00pm

This week, young astronauts will embark on an intergalactic adventure to explore the stars, planets, and everything in-between. Through space-themed activities, scientific experiments, and hands-on arts and crafts, campers will learn all about the wonders of space, from the moon to the stars, planets, and constellations. Children will practice French while learning vocabulary related to space, weather, and the solar system. By the end of the week, they will have created their own space-themed artwork, built models of the solar system, and participated in a fun "space mission" performance.

Language goals: Name planets, stars, and key space vocabulary in French; Use basic phrases to describe space objects and their positions in the sky; Understand and use vocabulary related to space exploration and weather; Engage in basic scientific discussions and experiments using French; Follow directions in French during space-related games and activities

Sample activities include: Build a model of the solar system ~ Create space-themed crafts (rocket ships, stars, planets) ~ Conduct simple experiments to simulate moon craters or gravity ~ Learn and perform a "space mission" skit ~ Explore constellations with glow-in-the-dark stars ~ Design and launch paper rockets ~ Space scavenger hunts to identify planets and stars in the sky

*Logistics:

-Ages: For children 6-11 years of age

-When: M-F: 07/14/25-07/18/25, 9:00am-12:00pm

-Location: Mesa Elementary School at 1575 Lehigh Street, Boulder, CO 80305 MAP

-Cancellation and Refund Policy:

1. Camps must be paid in full prior to the start of the first class.

2. The French Language Institute of Boulder will only issue *refunds 1) if cancellation/refund requests are made within 48 hours of payment and 2) before May 18, 2025. Both conditions must be met for a refund to be issued. *There is a $75 administration fee charged on all refunds.

-What To Bring:

  • *Pack a snack and a water bottle each day.

*Please note that we require parents to pack a nut-free snack for their

children.
