*Week #2: Little Painters in Paris (6-10 years old)
M-F: 06/09/25-06/13/25, 9:00am-12:00pm
This week, campers become petits artistes as we travel—imaginatively—through the colorful streets of Paris! Children will discover French art, colors, and Parisian landmarks while expressing themselves through painting, collage, and playful French immersion. Through daily art projects and language games, children will learn to describe colors, shapes, tools, emotions, and works of art—all while building speaking and listening skills in French.
Language goals: Identify and use color names and basic shapes in French; Name common art tools (paintbrush, paper, canvas, etc.); Use simple phrases to describe their artwork and emotions; Talk about Paris landmarks and artists using basic vocabulary; Follow simple instructions in French during art-making and activities
Sample activities include: Painting like Monet: Watercolor gardens and bridges ~ “Musée en papier” (paper museum): Create and curate their own mini gallery ~Sketching the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame ~ Color mixing experiments with French vocabulary ~ Collage in the style of Matisse (les formes!) ~ Musical painting to French songs (paint to rhythm and feeling) ~ French storybooks about Parisian artists and museum adventures
*Logistics:
-Ages: For children 6-10 years of age
-When: 06/09/25-06/13/25, 9:00pm-12:00pm
-Location: Mesa Elementary School at 1575 Lehigh Street, Boulder, CO 80305 MAP
-Cancellation and Refund Policy:
1. Camps must be paid in full prior to the start of the first class.
2. The French Language Institute of Boulder will only issue *refunds 1) if cancellation/refund requests are made within 48 hours of payment and 2) before May 18, 2025. Both conditions must be met for a refund to be issued. *There is a $75 administration fee charged on all refunds.
-What To Bring:
*Pack a snack and a water bottle each day.
*Please note that we require parents to pack a nut-free snack for their
children.
